About Us

About AreaSpy Security Kenya — Professional CCTV Installation Since Day One

Who We Are

AreaSpy Security Kenya is a professional CCTV installation company based in Kasarani, Nairobi.

We install security camera systems for homes, businesses, landlords, schools, hospitals, warehouses, farms, and industrial facilities across Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, and Machakos counties.

We are not a general electronics shop that also does CCTV. We are not a company that imports cheap cameras and sends untrained staff to mount them on walls. Security camera installation is the only thing we do — and we have been doing it long enough to know what works in a Karen large compound, what works in a Kitengela estate maisonette, what works in an Athi River warehouse, and what works on a Kajiado ranch with no mains power and the nearest police post 45 minutes away.

We are based in Kasarani — at Pana House, Maji-Mazuri Street off Kasarani Mwiki Road. That location is not accidental. Kasarani sits at the centre of our service zone — 15 minutes from Githurai, 20 minutes from Westlands, 25 minutes from the CBD, 35 minutes from Thika, 40 minutes from Kitengela.

When we say same-day response, we mean it — because we are close enough to make it real.

What We Do

We install, repair, and maintain CCTV security camera systems. That is our complete service scope — and we go deep into it rather than spreading across a dozen security services at surface level.

Installation — We design and install new CCTV systems from site assessment through to remote viewing setup on the owner’s device. Every installation starts with a site walk. Every installation ends with the owner seeing live footage from every camera on their phone. Nothing in between is skipped.

Repair — We fix CCTV systems that have stopped working, stopped recording, lost remote viewing, or were never set up correctly in the first place. We work on all brands — Hikvision, Dahua, CP Plus, Reolink, and every generic DVR system sold across Nairobi’s electronics markets.

Maintenance — We offer quarterly maintenance contracts for clients who want their system health verified proactively rather than discovered to be failing after an incident. Every quarter we check recording status on every camera, verify hard drive health, test night vision performance, confirm remote viewing access, and send a written report.

We also install electric fence integration with existing CCTV systems — connecting fence zone triggers to the nearest camera for simultaneous alarm and visual confirmation — and gate intercom systems integrated with gate cameras for remote visitor identification and access control.

Our Installation Standards

Every AreaSpy installation is held to the same standards regardless of the system size or the property value.

Site assessment before quoting — We do not quote camera counts from a phone call. We visit the property, walk every entry point and boundary, map the blind spots a standard layout would miss, and design a system for the actual risk profile of your specific property.

A quote produced without seeing the property is a guess dressed as a professional opinion.

Written quotation before work starts — The camera count, equipment specification, total cost, and installation timeline are documented before a single cable is run. The price on the quotation is the price on the invoice. No additions discovered after completion. No surprises when the bill arrives.

Equipment that matches the application — A home system does not get industrial cameras and an industrial facility does not get home cameras. We specify equipment for the environment it is being installed in — resolution, infrared range, housing rating, and lens type are matched to the specific installation position, not pulled from a single product list.

Remote viewing on the owner’s device — Every installation ends with the owner seeing live footage from every camera on their own phone. Not on our phone. Not a demonstration on a laptop. On the device they will actually use to monitor their property. We test the remote connection from outside the property’s WiFi range before we consider the job complete.

Clean cabling — Cables are concealed in conduit or trunking where the structure allows, surface-run neatly where it does not, and never left hanging loose between mounting positions. A CCTV installation that looks like it was done in a hurry was done in a hurry — and the cable joints and connections that look careless fail first

The Properties We Work On

Five years of installations across four counties have taken us into every type of property in the greater Nairobi region.

Homes — From 2-room bedsitters in Githurai to multi-acre Tigoni estates. The smallest system we install is a 2-camera gate and rear yard for a Umoja terrace house. The largest residential system we have installed had 24 cameras on a Limuru property with a perimeter measured in hundreds of metres.

Rental properties — Single rental houses managed by absentee landlords, multi-unit blocks in Nairobi satellite towns, and entire estate portfolios managed from a single phone app. The landlord category taught us more about what happens to CCTV systems when nobody is checking them than any other installation type.

Businesses — Retail shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, hardware stores, banks, hotels, restaurants, offices, and commercial buildings across the full Nairobi commercial landscape. Every business type has a different theft pattern and a different camera requirement — we have worked in enough of them to know what those differences are.

Schools and institutions — Primary and secondary schools, university adjacent hostels, hospitals, clinics, churches, and community centres. Institutional installations require scheduling sensitivity, Data Protection Act awareness in patient and student areas, and the ability to phase work around operational schedules without disrupting the people the institution serves.

Industrial and commercial — Warehouses, factories, EPZ facilities, logistics and distribution centres, transport yards, vehicle yards, petrol stations, and clearing and forwarding offices along the Mombasa Road, Eastern Bypass, and Thika Road industrial corridors. Industrial installations are where the technical depth of what we know is tested most directly — LPR geometry, RAID storage, loading bay coverage design, and shift-pattern-aware installation phasing are not skills that come from doing only residential work.

Farms and rural properties — Smallholder farms in Kangundo and Machakos, ranches in Kajiado, tea estates in Limuru, and remote agricultural properties across the wider service zone. Farm installations taught us solar system sizing, 4G connectivity for NVR remote viewing, and the specific livestock boundary monitoring requirements that no urban CCTV training covers.

Our Commitment After Installation

An installation is not the end of our relationship with a client — it is the beginning of it.

A CCTV system needs to work on the day of the incident, not just on the day of installation. Those two days can be years apart — and a lot can go wrong silently in between. We are reachable after installation on the same number — +254 740 030 496.

The team that installed your system is the team that picks up when you call six months later because the remote viewing stopped working after a router upgrade. We do not route post-installation calls to a different department or a different company. We fix what we installed if it fails due to workmanship — a cable joint that comes apart, a mount that was not secure, a power connection that was not properly made. These failures are on us and we fix them at no charge.

We offer quarterly maintenance contracts for clients who want the peace of mind of knowing their system is verified working every three months. These contracts are particularly valuable for clients with weekend properties in Limuru, Ngong, and Kajiado, landlords with multiple properties they visit infrequently, and industrial clients where a recording gap discovered during a cargo claim investigation has direct financial consequences.

Q: Do you supply equipment only, without installation?
